Michelle Andria is an award-winning singer and songwriter from Los Angeles who has been in the music circuit since her teens as a lead singer of a Pop group, The W’Ssh. She starred on Star Tomorrow Reality TV singing competition that premiered on NBC. Thousands auditioned and only 92 were handpicked by celebrity judges such as David Foster, Mick Fleetwood, Sheila E, Mike Jones (Foreigner), Travis Barker (Blink 182), and Billy Gibson (ZZ Top). Bands and solo acts competed, and Michelle Andria won the finals at Week 5.
Michelle Andria worked with outstanding music producers such as Colby O’Donis (Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake) and L.A.rry L.A.vell. Her new album, Love Blooms in Hollywood, released on Valentines Day, delivers that sexy, heartbreaking, soul-searching R&B & Pop music for the hopeless romantics.
Before she was ready to write her own songs, she spent years as an insider at major record labels brilliantly working with numbers in the same way musicians do math in rhythmic measures. On weekends, she immersed in a music ministry in Hollywood where she became vocally trained in the likes of Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. In no time, she was featured as a solo soprano with a gospel choir performing in-front of thousands.
When opportunities presented itself to join girl groups such as Pussycat Dolls and Danity Kane, she chose to go solo and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business. For Michelle, singing and songwriting is a forever passion engraved in a true artist's heart. While promoting her music and sharing her abilities, she has assisted several humanitarian groups in raising funds for disaster relief, providing holiday meals to low-income families, and performing at youth Olympics for at-risk adolescents.
For many years, it felt like home with Doc Rock-It band when they performed at festivals and college universities. It brought back childhood memories when uncles from Abrakadabra, a Filipino rock band, rehearsed in their backyard. Being with Doc Rock-It brought her out of her comfort zone which is R&B Soul and allowed her to shine through other genres such as Pop, Country, and Classic Rock.
There are not many representing AAPI in the music industry. She's a great contender in creating a fusion of American Pop and P-Pop (like K-Pop, J-Pop) for speaking two languages fluently. This motivates Michelle Andria to continue her musical endeavors from singing, songwriting, and licensing her work to artists from major record labels, sync agents, and more.
Doc Rock It is America's premier dance party band with seasoned musicians. As a result of many excellent reviews, they have garnered awards from The Bash for consecutive years. At the present, its residency moved from California to Texas.
Michelle Andria's 10 years with "the bros" really honed her vocal skills and exceptionally delivered R&B Soul, some Country, to Classic Rock, all the way to current Pop hits.
Michelle Andria is the Founder and Head Vocal Coach of Powerhouse Stars. Its mission is to empower, encourage, and inspire singers of all ages and all genres. The Hollywood academy is currently on hiatus and limited to coaching recording artists signed to record labels only.
