MICHELLE ANDRIA is a Filipina-American singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. She starred on Star Tomorrow Reality TV singing competition that premiered on NBC and NBC.com for online voting in 2006. Thousands auditioned and only 92 were handpicked by celebrity judges such as David Foster, Mick Fleetwood, Sheila E, Mike Jones (Foreigner), Travis Barker (Blink 182), and Billy Gibson (ZZ Top). Bands and solo acts competed head-to-head and Michelle Andria won at the finals of round one (week 5). By round two, a voting scandal emerged and none of the winners signed up on a bad record deal.
Andria was the founder and head vocal coach of Powerhouse Stars that was established in Hollywood in the mid 2000s. Its mission was to motivate singers of all ages and all genres. Through this outreach, she produced showcases for A&Rs.
In her teen years, she was discovered to join a sultry pop group called The W’Ssh (stands for We are the She). They had electrifying performances throughout Los Angeles County. After a sold out show at the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood, they each pursued music on their own and eventually disbanded. Andria worked in the studio with Earth, Wind, and Fire’s producer, Wayne Vaughn, and Amy Shiotani.
In her 20s, Andria found a new quest in Hollywood. She became a lead soprano in a gospel choir and immersed into soulful music that honed her skills. While connecting with a large community of talented singers and musicians, she focused on her business degree and worked as an analyst at record labels. She has written and recorded her own songs with producers, one of which, was Colby O’ Donis who made hit songs for Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and Akon to name a few.
At present, Michelle Andria actively goes on road gigs with an all American Top 40s band, Doc Rock It, that provides wholesome rock and roll hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, to the present. Along with singer-songwriters, Vince Hall and Chris Burnett, they provide the audience tunes you cannot resist to get up and dance to! Her forte includes songs by Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Janis Joplin, and more.
Doc Rock It ~ is America's premier dance party band that has earned awards from The Bash. The seasoned musicians have been performing for decades at private events, corporate, festivals, and more.
Michelle Andria has been the female lead vocalist for 10 years delivering soul music from Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and more.
Michelle Andria is the Founder and Head Vocal Coach of Powerhouse Stars. Its mission is to empower, encourage, and inspire singers of all ages and all genres.
